2024 DC Marathon Swim

Congratulations to our 2024 Swimmers September 23, 2024

Very strong swimming down the Potomac River for all our swimmers as they battled against a persistent incoming tide in the morning. Variable conditions led to the ebb tide that rocketed all of them past the finish buoy at Hallowing Point at Mason Neck, Virginia. Special thanks to the swimmers, crew, kayakers, observers and our boat pilots from Extensive Marine. Truly a team effort making for a remarkable swim!!

2025 DC Marathon Swim

20.5 mile swim from Fletcher’s Cove to just past
George and Martha Washington’s estate at Mt. Vernon.

Swim through time and make history.

When George Washington chose to build his Mount Vernon estate along the Potomac River, he declared the then-pristine body of water ‘the Nation’s river.’ At the time, even dolphins were a common sight.
